SALTER, a company dedicated to the design, manufacture and commercialization of fitness machinery and sport material, as much in the national as international scope, has a complete range of products focused on the customer’s well-being.

The evolution of the new tendencies in the accomplishment of the physical exercise, the increasing needs of the users and the enormous existing awareness on the benefits of the sport practice has caused that SALTER, with more than 60 years of experience, develops new systems and work methods that can offer better results of health to the user, applying, this way, the last technological advances with the purpose of obtaining an effective, trustworthy and safe practice.

The beginnings of SALTER go back to 1947, in the mechanical factory that Mr. Salvador Peydro Ràfols founded. At that time, the small factory of 60 m2 located in the Callao street in Barcelona produced diverse sport articles, among others.

In the 60’s, the activity of the company was derived towards the manufacture of camping articles (chairs, deckchairs, folding tables), which were welcomed in the Spanish market.

In 1970, the company was yielded to the son’s founder and it was constituted as a joint-stock company under the denomination Commercial Salter, S.A. Since that moment, the activity of the company was exclusively centered in the manufacture and commercialization of sport material, from complements and fitness accessories to sophisticated cardiovascular and fitness machines that incorporate the sharpshooting technology.

In that moment, SALTER has a complete Research and Development Department that studies the constant innovation of the training methods, the transmission systems, the development of new structures and the design and creation of new products. In addition, it has a strict process of production control that guarantees a final quality level that satisfies the most rigorous international norms.

SALTER has been always characterized by its exporting spirit. From 1975 part of the production is destined to foreign countries.

In the 80’s, it is set up the Gym and Sport Facilities Division, SALTER SPORT, specialized in the equipment of fitness facilities for professional use. Between its main customers there are hotels, gymnasiums, sport centers, among other public and prived facilities.

SALTER SPORT has a human team ready to inform and advise to the customer and to analyze each project based on the characteristics and needs of each installation. The installation and assembly service and the Technical Attendance services complete the activity of this division. All of this has allowed SALTER to become a bench mark in the equipment of facilities.

More than 16,000 m2 of facilities gives capacity to this important enterprise infrastructure that allows to develop all our technology and it does possible to have an excellent service to the extensive national and international commercial network. SALTER’s production center is located in Tarragona (Spain).

Nowadays, SALTER is focusing its efforts in the innovation, quality and security of products. SALTER has been adapting its products to the European Norms of Security for cardiovascular machines, muscle toning apparatuses and sport complements.
